Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this work on scanned PDFs?
- No. Scanned PDFs contain images of text, not actual text data. This tool extracts selectable/searchable text only. For scanned documents, you need an OCR tool.
- Is the text formatting preserved?
- Basic text content is extracted, but complex formatting (tables, columns, fonts) may not be perfectly preserved. The text is organized by page.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The extraction uses PDF.js in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
- Can I extract text from specific pages?
- Currently, text is extracted from all pages. You can use Split PDF first to isolate specific pages.
