Frequently Asked Questions
- Will this work on all phones?
- Yes. Both iOS (11+) and Android phones can scan WiFi QR codes with the built-in camera app.
- Is my password safe?
- Yes. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser. Your WiFi credentials are never sent to any server.
- What encryption type should I choose?
- Use WPA/WPA2 (the default) for modern networks. WEP is outdated and insecure. Use 'None' only for open/public networks.
- What is a hidden network?
- A hidden network doesn't broadcast its name. Check the 'Hidden' option if your SSID is not visible in WiFi scans.
Usage notes
- Guests scan the QR code with their phone camera to connect automatically.
- WPA/WPA2 is the most common encryption type for modern routers.
- Print and frame the QR code near your router or at the front desk.
