PDF Tools
Edit PDF Text
Edit visible text in a PDF directly in your browser. The tool detects existing text so you can click any phrase to replace it, or drop in new text boxes anywhere on the page.
Upload a PDF to start editing visible text.
How to Use This Tool
- 1Upload a PDF and let the tool detect existing text.
- 2Click a highlighted text element on the preview to replace it, or click 'Add blank text box' for new content.
- 3Refine the replacement text, then drag to move and use the corner handle to resize.
- 4Use 'View updated PDF' to review the finished result in a modal, then click 'Apply & Download' when you are ready.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this rewrite the original PDF text objects?
- No. The tool covers the original text with a clean rectangle and writes the replacement text on top. The result is a flattened PDF with the new text visible in the right place.
- Will detection find every text element?
- Detection works for normal selectable PDF text. It cannot read text that is part of a scanned image. For image PDFs, use 'Add blank text box' to overlay new text manually.
- Can I edit multiple pages in one file?
- Yes. Switch pages from the toolbar and add as many edits as you need before downloading the final PDF.
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. Detection, preview rendering, and PDF editing all happen in your browser. The file never leaves your device.
Usage notes
- Click any highlighted text on the preview to replace it. The replacement keeps the original size and position.
- Use 'Add blank text box' to insert new text on top of the page without covering anything below it.
- Use 'View PDF' to review the current or updated file in a modal before you decide to download it.
